In our previous guide: How To: Deploy Servers Or Workstation Protection, we utilized Scout's automation to deploy a backup with Veeam Agent for Windows (VAW). In this guide, we will demonstrate how to restore volumes using VAW.
Perform Volume Level Restore using Veeam Agent for Windows
- Launch the Veeam Agent for Windows Volume Level Restore session from the taskbar:
- The Volume Level restore session will start at the Backup Location step. At this step, select Network Storage, and then Next:
- In the Network Storage step, ensure Object Storage is selected. Then click Next:
- At the Object Storage step, select S3 Compatible, and then select Next:
- In the Account step, you'll need to add your Service Point, Region, Access key, and Secret key.

- Once all required fields are filled out, click Next:
- At the Bucket step, click Browse, then in the Select Bucket window, choose your desired bucket. Click OK:
- Next, you’ll need to select the Folder to restore from. Click Browse, and in the Select Folder window, choose your desired folder. Then click OK:
- Once both the bucket and folder have added, click Next:
- In the Bucket step, double-click the job you want to restore from. Add your encryption key, and click OK:
- With the Backup Job decrypted, chose the protected resource to restore from. Click Next:
- At the Restore Point step, choose the required restore point. Click Next:

Before proceeding with the restoration, please ensure that the following conditions are met:

The target disk has equal or greater capacity than the original disk.

The new disk is online and initialized.

- In the Disk Mapping step, click on Customize disk mapping:
- At the Disk Mapping window, right-click on the target disk and select Apply Disk Layout. Then, choose the original disk as the source for the layout:
- After you’ve confirmed the disk layout, click OK:
- At the Disk Mapping step, click on Next:
- In the Summary step, verify that all details are correct. Then click on Restore to initiate the restoration process:

After completing the restoration process, click on Finish to conclude:
